Chapter BE Initial Application
Policy Guidelines
-The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a highly competitive one-time $2,500 scholarship recognizing graduating high school senior women who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service and who plan to pursue full or part-time post-secondary education in the United States or Canada beginning the fall following her high school graduation.
- Exhibits excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success
- Has a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Is in her senior year of high school and is 20 years of age or under at the end of the calendar year.
-Is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
-Plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States or Canada full-time or part-time in the fall of the academic year following high school graduation.
- Is recommended by and receives the approval vote of a local P.E.O. chapter
Process and Timeline
-The Chapter BE selection application is due by October 1, 2024
-Selection Applications must be completed and include:
*Completed online application form
*1 Letter of Reference
*Official Transcripts
-Chapter selection Interviews for each high school's applicant will be held the week of October - 7th - 11th, 2024
-By October 15, the chosen Chapter BE Recipient will be notified that her name has been sent forward to International PEO.
-Following Chapter BE's submission, the nominee will receive an email with a link to the International PEO STAR Appiication which must be completed within 30 days after receipt of the email
-International STAR Scholarship recipients will receive notification by April 30th
